Youth Empowerment Agency is a Nonprofit organization that was established in 2013, by four women who foresaw the need in the lower-income communities. We noticed a lot of low-income families did not have the access to quality after-school care or resources to inform them.

We further recognized the importance to educate the youth on various life skills that include healthy eating habits, to encouraging active lifestyles, financial literacy, and the enrollment process of business and education.

Our environment is safe and also allows our participants feel welcomed and free to explore all our resources.

YEA uses the 5 protective and promotive Factors to inform the work we do, those factors consist of:

• Protective Factors: Conditions that eliminate risk.
• Promotive Factors: Conditions that actively enhance the wellbeing of youth.
• Risk Factors: Conditions that increase the probability of poor outcomes.
• Resilience when our youth are faced with adversity.
• Accessing their concrete supports in time of need or adversity.
• Developing Social Connections within healthy relationships.
• Understand the role our Cognitive and Social Emotional Competence plays in our lives.
• Increasing our youth's Knowledge of adolescent development.
